WHAT YOU'LL NEED...
- Your Dimply Bean Silicone Prosthetic with Application Kit
- Small scissors (for trimming edges)
- Powder (translucent powder, preferrably FX grade)
- Sealant or fixative spray (if needed)
STEP 1: PREPARATION
Clean the skin
Remove all oils, dirt, or makeup with isopropyl alcohol or a gentle cleanser.
Positioning
Before using adhesive, place the prosthetic against the skin to check alignment and orientation. Mark lightly if needed.
Trim
Trim away unnecessary encapsulated edge, but avoid cutting into the silicone we recommend leaving as much of the plastic as possible for the application steps.
STEP 2: ADHESIVE APPLICATION
Apply adhesive
Using a brush or sponge, apply a thin, even layer where the prosthetic will sit. Paint a matching thin layer on the back of the silicone piece.
Tack time
Allow both to dry until tacky (usually 1–2 minutes, depending on adhesive type).
STEP 3: PLACEMENT & DISSOLVE
Align and press
Carefully place the prosthetic, starting from one edge and pressing outward to avoid trapping air bubbles.
Secure the edges
Use a fine brush or cotton bud dipped in adhesive to seal any loose edges. Press gently until fully bonded.
Melt & blend
Lightly dab the encapsulated edge with alcohol using a cotton bud or small sponge. The encapsulated film (often cap plastic) will soften and blend seamlessly into the skin.
Powder
Once the edge is fully dissolved and dry, gently set it with translucent powder.
STEP 5: REMOVAL
Loosen edges
Use an adhesive remover on a cotton bud to gently lift an edge.
Work slowly
Continue easing remover underneath until the entire prosthetic lifts off.
Clean up
Remove any adhesive residue from skin with remover, then cleanse with mild soap and water.
Tips
- Test adhesives and removers on a small skin patch first for sensitivity.
- Work in thin layers, heavy adhesive or paint can create unwanted texture.
- Avoid pulling edges when dry to prevent tearing the encapsulation.
- Store prosthetics flat and out of sunlight before use.
